FLAVOURsome Plant-Based Recipe Competition – Christmas Edition 2025

FLAVOURsome is thrilled to announce the second edition of our Plant-Based Recipe Competition, dedicated to Christmas 2025.

This year’s theme invites you to showcase your creativity by preparing a simple, festive, and fully plant-based recipe using only five ingredients or fewer. Whether you’re a home cook, food lover, or sustainability enthusiast — this is your time to shine!

All submitted recipes will be featured in the official FLAVOURsome Recipe Book, and one lucky winner will have their dish featured on the front cover!

27 October – 26 December 2025

How to Participate

TEP 1: Submit your recipe for the recipe book

  1. Upload your recipe and photo through the official submission formhttps://forms.gle/XQCdvc3E1iiattSF8
    You’ll need to provide:
  • Your full name and country
  • Recipe title
  • Ingredients list (max 5)
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • A high-quality photo of your dish
  • The Instagram post link
  1. All valid submissions will be included in the FLAVOURsome Recipe Book.

Note: Ready meals cannot be used as ingredients.

STEP 2: Share Your Creation on Instagram and apply to win the book cover page

  1. Download the official FLAVOURsome recipe slide template 👉 [Download Template]
  2. Prepare your plant-based recipe using a maximum of 5 ingredients (spices and seasoning don’t count!).
  3. Add to the template:
    • Your recipe title
    • List of ingredients (max 5)
    • 4–5 preparation steps
    • One high-quality photo of your finished dish
  4. Post your creation on Instagram and:
    • Tag @flavoursome_cost
    • Use the hashtags #FLAVOURsome and #FLAVOURsomeRecipeCompetition
    • Include your name and country in the post caption

All valid submissions will be included in the FLAVOURsome Recipe Book.

Selection and Awards

The recipe featured on the front cover will be chosen based on:

  • Number of Instagram likes
  • Compliance with competition rules
  • Final evaluation by the FLAVOURsome Communication Team (WG5)

Every participant’s recipe will be featured in the official FLAVOURsome Recipe Book, which will be shared across the network and online.

This workshop will bring together researchers, industry experts, and stakeholders from FLAVOURsome COST Action and EU-funded project FlavourFerm to explore the science, innovation, and future of flavour fermentation.
Aim: Get knowledge and first-hand experience in the physiology, pathophysiology, brain integration and language of the chemoreception.
On 15th May 2025, a special satellite meeting will be organized after the 7th International Food Processing Conference (12-14th May, 2025, Valencia, Spain).
The primary objective of the 1st FLAVOURsome Workshop is to facilitate a robust dialogue between researchers and industry professionals, aiming to establish effective collaborations that drive innovation in the field of plant-based food flavours.
On 23 of September, 2024, a dedicated satellite meeting will be organised as a pre-event of the 17th International Weurman Flavour Research Symposium that will be held on 24 – 27 September 2024 at Wageningen University and Research in Wageningen, The Netherlands.
